Chef Anees Khan is an acclaimed pastry chef, chefpreneur and entrepreneur with over two decades of international culinary experience. He is the Founder of Star Anise Fine Foods & Leisure Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, and Co-Founder of Rizkee Fine Foods LLP (Brunch N Bite), Bengaluru, as well as Gourmelange Hospitality LLP.
A graduate of IHM Chennai, Chef Anees began his career with The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai, where he developed his expertise in patisserie under international pastry chefs, including Swiss Master Pastry Chef Beat Loeffel. His global career spans leading hospitality properties across Canada, Egypt, Tanzania, Oman and India, including Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, JW Marriott Cairo, Kilimanjaro Hotel Kempinski and Six Senses Resort & Spa. He has also trained in advanced gelato-making in Bologna, Italy.
In 2010, he founded Star Anise, drawing on his international experience to build a premium culinary and patisserie business. His Star Anise Patisserie outlets have earned strong recognition, including Best Bakery of the Year – Mumbai (2023). He has also received multiple honours, including Patisserie Maestro of India 2024 and Chef Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
