Varun is a first-generation entrepreneur and the Founder & CEO of Pro Nature Organic Foods, one of India’s established organic food brands. With over 30 years of professional experience, including more than 20 years in the organic food industry, Varun has built Pro Nature from the ground up into a widely distributed and steadily growing brand in India. Founded in 2006, Pro Nature Organic Foods was built as a bootstrapped venture with a focus on delivering consistent quality, reliable service, and strong distribution. Under Varun’s leadership, the company has grown from its roots in Bengaluru to a presence across major cities in India, with its products reaching consumers through leading modern retail, e-commerce and general trade channels. Its customers include Reliance, Metro Cash & Carry, Amazon, More, Walmart and Spar, alongside a wide network of distributors and retailers.
Varun’s entrepreneurial approach combines long-term business thinking with a strong focus on operational excellence. He has developed systems and processes aimed at achieving high standards in quality, service, sales and distribution, while maintaining disciplined inventory management, cash-flow efficiency and sustainable business growth. His approach balances financial performance with social and environmental considerations.
Before founding Pro Nature, Varun gained experience across diverse sectors and leading organisations, including Johnson & Johnson, Tata International, The Global Green Company (Thapar Group) and EKA Software Solutions. During his tenure at The Global Green Company, he was involved in exports of spices and pioneered certified organic exports for the company. Varun holds a master’s degree in international business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Power from Nagpur University. At the heart of his journey is a commitment to building a sustainable, consumer- focused business in the evolving organic food sector. His areas of interest include lean business management, investing, human behaviour and motivation, sustainability, teaching and long-term business strategy.
