Anil Kankariya is a veteran retailer and the Owner of Navjeevan Super Shop, one of North Maharashtra’s prominent food and grocery retail businesses. A Commerce graduate from Pune University, Kankariya joined his family’s traditional provision business in 1978–79 and has since played a pivotal role in transforming it into a modern supermarket operation.
In 1993, Navjeevan launched its first supermarket in the North Maharashtra region, marking a significant transition from the traditional Navjeevan Provision format. Under Kankariya’s leadership, the business expanded to four stores across the Khandesh region, with further expansion plans in the pipeline.
Recognised as one of the leading retailers in North Maharashtra, Kankariya has received several industry honours, including the Khandesh Icons Award (2014–15) and the Retail Leadership Award by Lokmat (2016) in Mumbai. Navjeevan Plus has also been recognised among the Top 50 Most Admired Food & Grocery Retailers in India by Images Group, while the business has featured in national publications such as Progressive Grocer.
A strong advocate of modern retail practices, Kankariya has provided consultancy and guidance to 50+ retailers seeking to transition from traditional retail practices to modern trade. He is a core member of the Retailers Association of India and has also served as a Chartered Member and Past President of Rotary Club Jalgaon West. Passionate about learning, networking and social development, he continues to contribute actively to the retail community and society at large.
