Avik Chatterjee is the Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director of Speciality Restaurants Limited, the company behind brands including Mainland China, Asia Kitchen by Mainland China, Gong and Episode. A graduate of Kingston University, London, he joined Speciality Restaurants in 2015 as Head of Innovation and New Formats and was inducted onto the Board in 2020.
Over the years, Chatterjee has played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s brand portfolio and driving innovation across formats. He has spearheaded the launch of new concepts including Gong, Episode One, Siciliana, Walters and Powder Room, while also leading the rebranding and evolution of flagship brands such as Mainland China and Asia Kitchen by Mainland China.
Appointed CEO with effect from June 1, 2026, Chatterjee is now focused on accelerating Speciality Restaurants’ growth, strengthening its brand equity and expanding its presence across key markets. His expertise spans new-format development, consumer trends, food and beverage innovation, brand transformation and market expansion.
