Raghavendra Raju is an engineer turned entrepreneur with a passion for food and a deep love for Dosas and Idlis.
He began his professional journey in the IT industry, a career that gave him the opportunity to work with people across geographies and travel extensively around the world. Those experiences exposed him to different cultures, businesses, food habits and, most importantly, the role that processes and systems play in building scalable businesses. Today, as a second-time entrepreneur, Raghavendra is bringing that same thinking into an area very close to his heart – South Indian cuisine.
He is the Director of NGPL, where his work focuses on making traditional South Indian food preparation more process-driven, consistent and scalable. His belief is simple: some of India’s most loved foods are still prepared through processes that are highly dependent on individual skill, experience and manpower. Raghavendra’s mission is to bridge the gap between tradition and process.
Through NGPL, he works on developing systems and food solutions that allow restaurants, hotels and institutional kitchens to reproduce traditional South Indian food consistently while reducing dependency on specialised manpower and complex kitchen processes. He strongly believes that process does not have to replace tradition – the right process can help preserve tradition and take it to a much larger audience. His entrepreneurial journey brings together an unusual combination of engineering thinking, technology experience, global exposure, food manufacturing and a genuine obsession with South Indian food.
At the heart of Raghavendra’s work is a simple ambition: To help make South Indian cuisine easier to reproduce, easier to scale and accessible across the world – without losing the taste and tradition that make it special.
