Chayan H. Shah is the Managing Director of Premier’s Tea Limited, an Indian tea company established in 1988, engaged in the manufacturing, processing, packaging and export of conventional, gourmet, specialty and wellness tea products. He has been instrumental in steering Premier’s and its flagship brand PREMIER’S, Teamoods , which has maintained a presence in Japan and South Korea for more than three decades. His professional focus is built around the company’s longstanding commitment to the purity, authenticity and quality of Indian teas, with particular expertise in Darjeeling and Assam teas and value-added gourmet and wellness infusions.
Chayan Shah leads the company’s international tea business, with responsibilities spanning international business development, key account management, export operations, product development and strategic partnerships. Under his leadership, Premier’s has developed a strong export-oriented manufacturing and processing platform, combining Indian tea expertise with Japanese-inspired precision processing technology to address impurities and quality parameters that may enter tea during cultivation, harvesting, transportation and handling. His role includes driving growth across established and emerging markets, particularly Japan, South Korea and other international destinations, while developing value-added gourmet teas, specialty teas and herbal wellness infusions.
Shah also oversees customized product formulations, packaging and private-label solutions, and works closely with international importers, distributors and strategic partners to strengthen the company’s global presence. A strong focus of his work is innovation across the tea portfolio, ranging from premium and luxury propositions to affordable mass-market offerings, while upholding the company’s commitment to origin-specific, non-blended and authentic Indian teas where required.
Shah is also an FSMS & QMS Auditor and Tea Sommelier, with expertise in financial analysis and data analytics. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is a Technical and Master Scuba Diver, reflecting his diverse interests and multidisciplinary approach.
