Zorawar Kalra is a prominent Indian restaurateur and the Founder & Managing Director of Massive Restaurants Pvt Ltd, which he launched in December 2012 with the vision of creating contemporary restaurant brands that could take Indian cuisine to a global audience.
Coming from a family deeply rooted in the culinary world, Kalra is the son of legendary food personality Jiggs Kalra. Building on this legacy while developing his own entrepreneurial identity, he has played a significant role in introducing innovative dining concepts that combine Indian flavours with modern culinary techniques, contemporary design and experiential dining.
Under his leadership, Massive Restaurants has developed a diverse portfolio of brands, including Farzi Café, Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, Made in Punjab, Pa Pa Ya, BO-TAI, KODE, MasalaBar and other food and hospitality concepts. Farzi Café, in particular, became known for its modern interpretation of Indian cuisine, incorporating elements of molecular gastronomy, culinary theatrics and contemporary presentation.
Kalra has also focused on expanding Indian restaurant concepts beyond the domestic market, while exploring new formats such as delivery-led and cloud-kitchen businesses. His approach combines brand building, culinary innovation, international expansion and an emphasis on evolving consumer experiences.
Beyond his entrepreneurial role, Kalra has also been a familiar face on Indian television, having hosted the fifth season of MasterChef India. His career reflects a sustained focus on modernising Indian dining and creating restaurant brands with international aspirations.
